Abstract
Hanah Tyler promissory note in which she subscribes to the Charitable Fund, also known as the Charity Fund. Tyler pledges to pay the Trustees of Amherst Academy twenty dollars on or before May 23, 1822 with annual interest from and after May 23, 1819. There are two notes on the back of the item, one from Charity Fund Financier Rufus Graves regarding Tyler's received interest and one unattributed note regarding Graves' signature and the provenance of the promissory note, including that it was presented in 1887 by George A. Plimpton.
