Dates | 1851-12-17 |
Abstract | J.C. (Jonathan Cogswell) Perkins, Trustee of Amherst College, letter to an unknown recipient in which Perkins writes in reply to a letter from the recipient and regarding the proposed site of the library building to be erected. He states that the site selected, the parsonage, meets his entire approbation and elaborates on his feelings regarding the site. He writes that he should cheerfully agree with the Trustees in answering at once and making the approbation of not over ten thousand for that purpose out of the fund subscribed. He goes on to say that he thinks they should all accept Mr. Williston's additional donation of two thousand dollars on the conditions proposed. The letter is pasted onto a another piece of paper with an unattributed note at the top of the page. |
