Abstract | A bronze medal issued to Jeffery Amherst to commemorate British military victories in the West Indies and Newfoundland in 1762. The face of the medal has a bust of King George III. The reverse of the medal displays a balance and an anchor in the center, with the words "Pax Auspicata Nov 3". Encircling the back of the medal are the locations of British military victories, including Havanna, Newfoundland, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Tobago, and Granada, along with the dates of the battles. The names of the victorious British military commanders are also listed on the back of the medal, including Amherst, Ferdinand, Granby, Rodney, and Monckton. |
