Abstract | Sidney Brooks essay on the United States and its destiny including how long its government, level of happiness and prosperity, and institutions might continue. In writing on the topic, he also discusses the downfalls of previous nations and kingdoms. Brooks argues that the judgement of God will determine the destiny of the nation and discusses national sins along with redeeming influences such as a spirit of reformation. This essay is presumed to be related to Brooks' studies at Phillips Academy or Amherst College. |
