Abstract
Transcript fragments of letters written by Emily Dickinson that may have been sent to Abiah Root. The transcription fragments are part of the collection of transcriptions of Dickinson's poems and letters produced by Mabel Loomis Todd for publication in a volume edited by her. Most transcriptions are in Todd's own hand; some are typed, and some were transcribed by other individuals. The fragments have editor's marks, notes, and many have pieces that have been cut away. An envelope addressed to Todd accompanies the transcript fragments. A note on the envelope, written in blue pencil states that these are "parts of Emily's letters not to be published" and "A.P Strong" referring to Abiah P. Root Strong. Other notes are written in pencil on the envelope.
