Abstract
M.P. Dutton (Mary Pomeroy Dutton) letter to Justin and Charlotte Bass Perkins in which Dutton replies to letters from Justin Perkins on behalf of her husband (George Damon Dutton). She expresses their sympathy over the deceased missionaries. She writes of grief, faith, and the recent deaths of Louisa (Dutton Perkins) and Mrs. Adams (Sarah Brackett Williston Adams). Dutton also writes about her own family, discussion within the Maternal Association regarding college, the deaths of missionary children (of the Nestorian Mission), the memoir of Judith (Grant Perkins), and news of local individuals. In closing, she discusses the antagonism between her pastor (Nehemiah Adams) and Justin Perkins, likely regarding their differing views on slavery.
