Abstract
A sermon by Edward Hitchcock discussing the idea that people and God judge the character of people in different ways. Hitchcock proceeds to give examples of the way men and God differ in their judgment of character in a social sense, a moral sense, and a religious sense. 1 Samuel 16:7 is quoted. Hitchcock has noted the date and location where he delivered the sermon as well as Bible chapters and hymns related to the sermon on the first page.
