Abstract
A letter from Edward Hitchcock to an unidentified recipient discussing the possible establishment of agricultural schools in Massachusetts. Hitchcock says that after observing such schools in Europe, he believes agricultural schools will be a good step for the state, and lays out what such a school should include. He discusses the specific subjects he believes should be taught, what supplies these schools should have, the number of instructors, and how much tuition should be charged, among other things.
