Abstract
A typescript copy by an unknown creator of diary entries written by Justin Hitchcock (Edward Hitchcock's father) between 1773 and 1799. In the entries, Hitchcock describes his move to Deerfield, Massachusetts, some of the goings-on in Deerfield at the time, joining the Company of Minute Men there, building his house in Deerfield, and other personal events of his life. He mentions apple trees being destroyed by canker worms several times.
