Abstract
Samuel F. Miller letter written in response to a letter from Sidney Brooks. Miller explains that he had been impatient to hear from Harwich and was then surprised and somewhat troubled by some things in the letter. He says that he was surprised that people noticed his dialogue as it was a hasty production. He elaborates on the dialogue including that he was troubled that Miss Winslow should have her feelings wounded. Miller asks Brooks to tell Winslow that he did not intend to make mock of her or her party. Miller goes on to briefly discuss the recent revival (at Amherst College) and the new term. He reflects on his time spent in Harwich last winter and asks Brooks to tell him of Esquire Underwood's family, Captain Small, and other acquaintances. He also mentions Brooks' sisters Tamesin and Sarah along with Brooks' father.
