Abstract
Professor W.S. Tyler letter to Amherst College President William A. Stearns in which Tyler writes regarding honorary degrees. Tyler specifically discusses Rodolphus B. Hubbard, a former Amherst College student, George Washburn, acting president of Robert College, and Henry A. Homes, New York State Librarian, as suggestions for honorary degrees of A.B. (Bachelor of Arts), Doctor of Divinity, and L.L.D. (Doctor of Laws) respectively. Tyler states that he is enclosing letters from Dr. Bliss and Dr. Clark suggesting Washburn for an honorary degree and that Professor H.B. Hackett makes the suggestion of Homes for an honorary degree. The enclosed letters Tyler mentions no longer accompany this item.
