Abstract
A letter to Edward Hitchcock in which Henry J. Van-Lennep talks about his travels through Europe and Asia, and describes in detail the geology of the mountains surrounding Mount Olympus. A drawing of part of the range is included, with notations on the type of rock in each section. Van-Lennep also tells Hitchcock that he is sending him a box of birds, which Hitchcock may wish to stuff. The list of birds is written on the verso.
