Abstract
A copper medal issued to Jeffery Amherst to commemorate the British military successes of 1758. The face of the medal contains a bust of King George II. The reverse of the medal contains an image of Britannia on a cart drawn by a lion. Flanking Britannia are Justice and Liberty. Encircling the reverse of the medal are the locations of British military victories of 1758, clockwise in order: Louisbourg, July 27; Fronti [Frontenac], August 27; Duquesne, November 24; Goree, December 29; Senegal, May 2; St. Malo, June 16; Cherbourg, August 16. A second ring of names encircles the back of the medal, containing the names of the victorious British military commanders, in clockwise order: Amherst, Bradstreet, Forbes, Keppel, Marsh, Mason, Marlbro. [Marlborough], How [Howe].
