Abstract
Nathan Allen letter to Justin Perkins in which Allen writes as the corresponding secretary of the Society of Inquiry (of Amherst College). He thanks Perkins for the letter and small articles of curiosities. Allen writes regarding the current state of their Society, student interest in foreign missions, the state of religion in the College, enrollment at the College, several student deaths, the prospects of the College, the faculty, and the Sabbath School. Mentioned in the letter are Mr. Tracy of Singapore, the Missionary Fraternity, Mr. Burgess, Mr. Tyler, the Association for the West, Phineas C. Walker, Nelson Whipple, Daniel C. Rowell, Dr. Humphrey, Professor Park, Professor Condit, Miss Woodhall, Mr. Danvenport, Rhadolphus Hubbard, Flagg, and General Mack.
