Abstract
W. Goodell letter to Justin Perkins in which Goodell responds to a letter from Perkins to him and a letter from sister Perkins (Charlotte Bass Perkins) to his wife Abigail (Goodell). He says that Dr. and Mrs. Grant and Mr. Merrick left on the 18th and joined the Shah for the journey to Trebizond (Trabzon). Goodell acknowledges the Perkinses' lonely state and writes that the others will most likely leave Trebizond the first week in September. He says that they won't encounter any trouble in the Russian provinces as they were unable to get firmans to enter them.
