Abstract
Friedrich Haas letter to Justin Perkins in which Haas writes regarding several topics, the return of fellow missionaries from a visit with Perkins, "the flaws" of Melik Kasem Mirza (Malik Qasim Mirza), and an Armenian Deacon he feels Perkins should employ as a schoolmaster if his Society (Basel Evangelical Missionary Society) does not. Haas mentions Persian books being brought to Teheran (Tehran) noting he was wrong in his initial opinion about the English Ambassador on this point. Haas goes on to discuss packages and letters being sent to and from various people and goods, schoolbooks, and Bibles he is sending to Perkins and requests Perkins send him items he thinks Haas might need. Haas thanks Perkins for his invitation to Mr. Hoernle and himself to join Perkins' mission and states the reasons why they cannot. Haas closes telling Perkins not to weary himself and talks of their friendship. Dr. Riach and Mr. Nisbet are also mentioned in the letter.
