Abstract
Photographs of the Black Business Symposium sponsored by Straight Ahead on the topic of "Black Capitalism: Myth or Reality?" and held on March 9, 1974. Also included are photographs of an address given by Reverend Jesse Jackson in Johnson Chapel on the same topic on March 6, 1974. Multiple events related to the March 9 symposium are photographed including workshops and addresses in Johnson Chapel and in the Converse Hall rooms: Porter Lounge, Cole Assembly Room, and Room 211. Identified individuals photographed include: Asa J. Davis, Sonia Benita Sanchez, Reverend Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan Sr., and John William Ward. These photographs are assumed to have been taken by the College Photographer for the Office of Public Affairs (now the Office of Communications). James U. Cryan Jr. was the College Photographer from October 1972-January 1975.
