Abstract
Photographs of Coretta Scott King in Johnson Chapel delivering the keynote address of a week-long series of programs on racism at Amherst College sponsored by the Trustee Committee on Student Life. Included are photographs of King, audience members, and media staff during and after the event in Johnson Chapel and of King and others in a smaller room, presumably for a press conference that was held after the event. Peter R. Pouncey can also be seen in multiple photographs. These photographs are assumed to have been taken by the College Photographer for the Office of Public Affairs (now the Office of Communications). Frank Ward was the College Photographer from 1984-2005.
