Abstract
The Alexandrian Eclectic Review, a document presumably produced by the Alexandrian Society of Amherst College. This issue is noted as Volume 1, Number 4, though it is unknown if the Alexandrian Eclectic Review was actually issued as a periodical. In the document's introductory text, it is noted as a journal with the object to "unite the hands of our literary brethren." Three entries are included in the issue: "A Ghost" briefly discusses a spirit that has appeared at the College, "What I like and what I don't like" discusses actions of members of the Society or general Society happenings that the author likes or dislikes, and "Nota Bene" provides a humorous notice of a supposed upcoming experiment illustrating the bleaching properties of chlorine. The Athenian and S. Union (Social Union) libraries are mentioned in "What I like and what I don't like."
