Abstract
James M. Gordon letter to Justin Perkins in which Gordon responds to letters from Perkins, saying that he was glad Perkins took the farthest way around to get to his home among the Nestorians so that he could carry comfort and peace in regard to America and England. He writes he can well imagine the mutual joy and edification of those interviews. Gordon notes that, per Perkins' requests, the Congregational Quarterly has been ordered and the photographs of Henry will be sent. He goes on to write regarding the financial state of the United States, the war (American Civil War), and the Board (American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions).
