Abstract
William C. Jackson letter to Justin Perkins in which Jackson sends sympathy for the griefs experienced by the Perkinses and Mrs. Perkins' (Charlotte Bass Perkins) precarious health and invites them to visit him in Trebizond (Trabzon) or his colleagues in Constantinople to boost their health and spirits. Jackson mentions a visit with Mr. Wright and Wright's hope that Perkins was sending a man or two to meet up with him on his trip. In addition, Jackson argues for the long-term benefits of seeking a summer residence more healthy than Ooroomiah (Urmia). Jackson closes by announcing the recent baptism of their son, Edward Payson Jackson, and hopes that if the boy were able to survive past childhood, he might resemble his namesake.
