Abstract
Charles Murray letter to Justin Perkins in which Murray discusses a donation he left with Perkins and references the beneficial results of the donation being the result of the zeal of Perkins and his colleagues and describes charity to be like a river needing a husbandman to direct it to the thirsty soil. Murray notes his return to Tehran and that he may be able to afford aid and protection to Perkins' "Nestorian flock" and references the "bigotry and prevarication of the Persian government." Murray references news in the latest newspapers and shares his feelings that there will be undisturbed peace between his and Perkins' respective countries. Murray goes on to discuss events and charges brought against Mr. Crampton by Mr. Marcy and the roles and attitudes of Lord Clarendon, Mr. Dallas, and the British and United States Governments in relation to the charges. Murray also discusses relations between the British and United States governments stating that the spirit of negotiations between the two countries stating war between them is impossible regardless of the amount of provocation offered to the English government by the United States.
