Abstract | Joseph Holdich letter to Justin Perkins in which Holdich writes on behalf of the American Bible Society since the former member charged with foreign correspondence, Dr. Brigham, has died. Holdich writes regarding Perkins' Mission in Oroomiah (Urmia) and potential effects of political troubles. He asks if there is any way the Society can aid his work, specifically in regards to the circulation and distribution of the Scriptures. Holdich also writes regarding the translation of the Bible into the Turkish language spoken in Northern Persia and asks about efforts to translate it in to other Persian languages. In a postscript he remarks on Dr. Wright's work on the Syriac Testament. |
