Abstract
A portion of a letter from Ellen Ranyard presumably to Justin Perkins in which Ranyard writes on a variety of subjects. She notes a slight earthquake in England and says she will try to impress upon Lord Shaftesbury, who has access to his father-in-law Lord Palmerston, the necessity of a different (British) ambassador to Persia. Ranyard asks for any journals of the Bible-readers translated, noting the touching accounts from Mrs. (Bowen) Thompson of hers at Beruit. She mentions Mr. (William) Moon's Arabic Alphabet for the Blind and describes the methods he uses for making the raised books, noting Mr. Barham's articles on the subject. In regards to the Nestorians, she says that the "fresh bitter sufferings under Ishmael's yoke are all only another token of its last bitterness before that yoke is broken - for its 'seven-times' - are all but over." She goes on to discuss the plan for her book, to trace the Seven Times of God. Ranyard provides her ideas for the possible dates and events of these times. The Book and its Missions is also mentioned in the letter.
