Abstract
A draft letter in Edward Hitchcock's hand that appears to have been dictated by Orra White Hitchcock. The intended recipient of the letter is not identified, though the content suggests it may be a sibling of Orra White's. Orra White emphasizes the importance of a change of heart in order to go to heaven, discussing portions of scripture which support this belief, and expresses her fear that the intended recipient will not be saved without undergoing such a change. She also mentions the morality of attending balls and the theatre, stating that if they help one pray more they are worthwhile, but if not one should not attend.
