Abstract
Sidney Brooks letter to his father Obed Brooks in which he writes regarding his management of money. He mentions the full account on the subject of college expenses that he sent his father previously and states that based on his father's remarks in his letter responding to his account, he is afraid that he gave his father wrong impressions. Sidney explains that he is not forward in liberality and elaborates on what he meant when discussing the subject of college expenses previously. He writes of what it is like to be someone in college with the name of Brooks. He also discusses his reputation at school, saying that there are other things besides money or scholarship that are to be taken into account. Sidney returns to the topic of expenses, including discussion of expenses relating to various societies and events.
